TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION

                                                            SALINE AREA SCHOOLS

Sealed Bids will be received by Saline Area Schools District office at the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Finance, 7265 N. Ann Arbor Street, Saline, MI  48176, until 12:00 p.m. Local Time, Friday, April 26, 2019 , at which time and place said Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud for the following approximate quantities of work:

Traffic and pedestrian signal installation and improvements at the intersection of Industrial Drive and Campus Parkway, City of Saline, Washtenaw County, Michigan

Contract Documents are on file with Scot Graden, Superintendent, Saline Area Schools.  Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: Saline Area Schools District Office, 7265 Saline Ann Arbor Road, Saline, MI  48176; Construction Association of Michigan, 43636 Woodward, P.O. Box 3204, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48302; and Wade Trim Associates, Inc., 25251 Northline Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180. Plans and spec are also available for viewing (not to be used for bidding purposes) on line at: www.wadetrim.com/resources/bid-tab/

Electronic copies of the Contract Documents for bidding purposes must be obtained at the office(s) of Wade Trim Associates Inc., 25251 Northline Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180, starting on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. There will be no charge for MDOT prequalified Contractors.

Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, money order, or bid bond, in the amount of at least five (5) percent of the amount bid, drawn payable to Saline Area Schools as security for the proper execution of the Agreement. 

The MDOT 2012 Standard Specifications for Construction, Division 2 through Division 9, including any issued Errata, are hereby incorporated into this Contract by reference and apply to work on this Project. Wherever the MDOT 2012 Standard Specifications for Construction is in conflict with the Specifications or Special Provisions contained within the Project Manual, the Specifications or Special Provisions contained within the Project Manual shall apply.

No Bid will be considered from any Bidder unless prequalified with the Michigan Department of Transportation in type and the magnitude of the work proposed, in accordance with the "Administrative Rules Governing the Prequalification of Bidders for Highway and Transportation Construction Work."  The Bidder shall furnish evidence of such prequalification with his Bid.  If the Bidder proposes to use any subcontractors, they must also be prequalified for the type and magnitude of the work proposed.

The Saline Area Schools reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bids should it consider same to be in its best interest.

Bids may not be withdrawn for the period of 60 days after date of receiving bids. All inquiries shall be directed to Chris Wall, PE (734) 947-9700.
