In 2003, when NANCY POTTS retired from teaching art after 32 years, she decided to make identification “charms” for the stems of glasses. The rest is history as she makes her “palette” of beads from all over the world to dictate her designs. Nancy relates that “one of my favorite travel activities is searching for interesting and exotic beads, whether they are hand-painted Peruvian beads, rustic Nigerian brass, elegant Murano glass or lovely Hawaiian shells.” She uses wire-strung on nylon-coated stainless shell while others are on nylon monofilament, creating the illusion of floating. She continues “a large portion of my work includes elegant Swarovski crystal. Women know its beauty and durability. I have an extensive line of everyday jewelry plus Christmas/holiday pieces. “ Nancy is extremely enthusiastic about her talents and should be so come meet her at the next Saline Craft Show.
